Fiorelli 1862 : « 12 Agosto [1851]. si è eseguito uno scavo nella così detta strada delle Sonatrici, e precisamente nella casa della piccola caccia. 13 Agosto [1851]. si è eseguito uno scavamento che ha avuto luogo nella stessa strada delle Sonatrici, e precisamente nelle botteghe in seguito di quelle disterrate nel giorno di ieri. 16 Agosto [1851]. ed alla sua presenza ha fatto ricercare quelle terre degli scavi eseguiti ne’ giorni 12 et 13. 19 Agosto [1851]. sono stati ricercati i residui delle terre de’due menzionati scavi eseguiti ne’ giorni 12 e 13 corrente. »
PompeiiinPictures : « Taberna Attiorum 1. Excavated 1851. (Strada Stabiana 64). According to PPM, IX.2.11/12 and possibly IX.2.13 all belonged to the same complex. IX.2.11 and IX.2.12 was defined as Tabernae Attiorum, in which the Attii brothers made colours and sold their products. Between 13th [12 en fait] and 16th August 1851 numerous blocks were found, recorded colours were light and dark yellow, red, white and pieces defined as “smalto” blue. Also found was white pigment, probably with a base of lead stamped with the seal Attioru, the presence of numerous mortars, pestles, and weights confirmed that in this place the pigments were made as well as sold. »

Additional comment
L’unité de mesure employée par G. Fiorelli est incertaine. Dans le Royaume de Naples, la seule en vigueur commençant par un « c » est la canna, qui correspond à 10 palmi, soit plus de 2 m ! Puisqu’il utilise fréquemment le « c. » en complément de la paume, il doit s’agir de centièmes de paume, soit, à partir de 1840, l’équivalent de 0,26455 cm.
