Auction Leu 2022, 2023: Ionia, Smyrna, circa 2nd-3rd centuries. Weight of 1 Litra (Lead, 96 mm, 474.00 g, 4 h), Markos Aurelios, son of Eraseinos, asiarch and hipparch. M•AYP / ЄPACЄIN૪ / YOY•ACIAP/XOY within raised rim inscribed, on the inner side, with X-Ⲱ-[...] and decorated, on the outer side, with pellet-in-annulets; to upper right, countermark: M AYP ЄP/ACЄINO/Y YOY A/CIAPXO/Y IΠΠA. Rev. IΠΠAPXOY. ISmyrn 791. Extremely rare and very impressive. Some scuffs, otherwise, good very fine. From a European collection, formed before 2005.

Additional comment
A very similar weight (but lighter, and with other lacunas) was once conserved at the Evangelic School in Smyrna: see https://pondera.uclouvain.be/artifact/15303/
Weiß 1990: ΥΟΥ ist gegen G. Petzl ganz unverdächtig; „Söhne von Asiarchen“ gibt es auf Inschriften und Münzen ebenso zahlreich wie die vereinfachten Schreibungen von ὑιός. Aus der Liste der Asiarchen ist der Mann natürlich zu streichen; Belege für diese irrige Auffassung bei G. Petzl.
