Archaeological description
Archives Seyrig (HS 332, no. 2): Poids rectangulaire. 70 mm. × 87 mm. Bordure saillante simple. Poids: 510 g. Proue de galère à d., en volute, sur laquelle est planté un trident. μνᾶ. | L η–νρ´, | Ζηνοδότο[υ] | ἀγορανό(μου). Les lettres ΜΝ sont ligaturées. Revers lisse, sur lequel il y avait peut-être (?) un trident, effacé. Date: an 158 de l’ère des Séleucides = 155/154 av. J.-C. Musée de Beyrouth (Karam).
Gatier 2016: Poids rectangulaire en plomb très endommagé, mais sans gros manque. Au droit, trident de Poséidon et texte, à l’intérieur d’un cadre saillant simple ; revers lisse. Dim. : 6,8 × 8,7. H. l. : 0,8. 476,2 g.
Sawaya 2023: Rectangular lead cast weight. Dimensions: 68 × 87 × 8 mm. Mass: 476.2 g. Preservation: bad; broken at the lower right angle; cracked surface around the trident. Seyrig’s archives: file HS 332, no. 2; Augé and Sawaya 2002, p. 332, note 13; Gatier 2016, p. 250, no. 537; Pondera #15072 (visited January 10, 2022). Denomination: one mina. Obverse: vertical trident on a ship’s prow left, ending with volute, Mν– | LΗ–ΝΡ (in field), ‘mina, year 158’, 𐊦ΗΝΟΔΟΤΟ | ΑΓΟΡΑΝΟ (below), ‘Zenodotos, being agoranomos ’, all within a simple raised rectangular border.
