Lifshitz 1976: Unveröffentlicht (Sammlung S. Gabbay, Jerusalem). Form: Nahezu quadratisch mit Henkel am oberen und halbkreisförmigen Zapfen am unteren Ende. Maße: Höhe ohne Henkel, aber mit Zapfen: 85 mm; Breite: 62 mm; größte Dicke: 10 mm. Gewicht: 180 g. Vorderseite: Umrahmt, stark (8 mm) eingetieftes Feld von 45×45 mm. Rechts ist eine aufrecht stehende Frau mit Mauerkrone frontal dargestellt; sie trägt ein langes Wickelgewand und scheint die Hände vor dem Bauch zu falten. Rechts von ihr befindet sich ein länglicher Gegenstand, dessen Deutung mir nicht klar ist. Links von ihr steht eine dreizeilige Inschrift: Ἡμι|λεί|τριν. Rückseite: Kreis von 31 mm Durchmesser mit markiertem Mittelpunkt (vgl. dazu die Gewichte Nr. 4. 18. 26. 27).
Kushnir-Stein 2002: A smaller weight representing the city-goddess of Gaza is extant. It too is nearly square in form and has a loop of similar design on its upper side and a semicircular handle on its lower side. The city-goddess stands in the right field, as on our example, with the inscription ΗΕΜΙ / ΛΕΙ / ΤΡΙΝ occupying the left field. The weight is undated and no symbols identifying its place of origin have been reported, but the similarities of form and design, as well as the correlation between the weight units, allows it to be attributed to Gaza and the first half of the 3rd c. A.D.
