Archaeological description
Auction Nomos 2021: Islands off Caria, Karpathos. Poseidion. Circa 500-475 BC. (Lead, 17x17x5.5 mm, 13.04 g), Weight of 1 Stater. Two dolphins: the larger swimming to left above a smaller one swimming to right; all within a rectangular frame consisting of two concentric linear rectangles with a line of pellets between them. Rev. Blank, as made. An interesting early Greek weight, very clear and with a well-struck design. Light earthen deposits, otherwise, about extremely fine.
