Weiß 1990: Das Schriftfeld macht einen verdächtigen Eindruck: Die unregelmäßige und in Einzelheiten ungelenke Schrift wirkt wie herausgeschnitzt, das Feld ist buckelig und weist rezente Verkratzungen und Glättungen auf. Das Gewicht als ganzes ist, wie die Oberflächenstruktur und die teilweise tiefe Patinierung zeigt, mit Sicherheit echt. Eine Untersuchung unter dem Mikroskop erweist auch die Beschriftung als wahrscheinlich echt. Sie ist allerdings kräftig modern überarbeitet; das ist offenbar schon vor längerer Zeit geschehen.28 - Der Genitiv Εὐμένου, ohne -ς, folgt einem geläufigen späten Flexionsschema: vgl. z.B. I.K. Smyrna II 1 (1987) Nr. 781 (mit Lit.); dreikaiserzeitliche Gewichte mit dieser Flexionsform bei Verf., Fünfzig Gewichte (Anm. 4).
