Archaeological description
Alessandra Pugliese: Bronze weight in the shape of piglet, with horizontal handle on its back. The animal is portrayed lying with bent legs on a rectangular base, which is supported by four short pedestals. On the back of the animal, the Greek letters ΡϹ are incised, while on the long side of the base the name ΔΙΟΔΩΡΟΥ is scratched on the bronze. The front-right knee of the piglet presents a small hole. The base is hollow; under the rear of the animal, the base presents a fissure, which may have been used to insert and slide a panel in order to close the base itself. The weight shows some signs of corrosion, with spots of oxidation. Overall, it is in very good conditions. The piglet is 27.5 long, 14.5 cm wide and 15.5 cm high; the handle is 4.1 cm high.
