Archaeological description
BnF: Poids carré. Grèce ou Asie Mineure. Bronze. L. 3,2 cm ; l. 3,2 cm ; ép. 0,8 cm; Poids: 57,2 gr. Δ-Η/ΜN. Une corne d'abondance.
Babelon & Blanchet 1895 [handwritten]: Poids de bronze carré. Une des faces est décorée d’une corne d’abondance et d’inscriptions Δ|Η|Μ (Δημοσιον) . Le revers est lisse. 32 mill. De côté. 57 gr 57. M 5910.
Autoptic examination: Bronze weight, square shape. Signs of wear and corrosion: chippings; light bumps and hollows; bigger bump on the lower right corner (on the letter O?); small stroke on the lower left corner on the reverse; the left edge is flattened on the reverse; greenish. Quite straight corners, edges and sides; the reverse is flat. On the obverse, depiction of a half-crescent in relief. In the four corners (except the M below the crescent), letters in relief: Δ H M [Ο]. (Height without relief: 0.65 cm).
