Archaeological description
Glass weight. Disc. Colour (Farbe): hellgrün. Iconography: No cross. No wreath.
CPAI III/2: 7th century AD? Eastern Mediterranean. Weight for a silver coin (half siliqua). Glass, 18 x 2 mm; 0.90 g. Inv. no. PMA 2852. Acquired in 2007. Description: Pale-blue coloured, transparent round weight with a central impression. The retrograde cruciform monogram is composed of the letters E on the left, Ⲱ at the bottom, ΓΝ in ligature on the right, Θ in the middle, and T and the ligature at the top. Although for the ligature on the right side the letters Π and N are more likely for the ligature on the right side, a resolution of the name is only meaningful with a gamma instead of a pi. The monogram can be read as ΘΕΟΓΝⲰϹΤ.
