Archaeological description
CPAI III/2: Discoid in form with plain profile, struck. On the obverse, in relief, it reads ΗΛΙ / ΟCΕΛΗ / ΝΑΤΟΝ in three lines which refers to the term (helioselanaton) applied to the last issue of histamenon of Basil II and Constantine VIII. On the reverse, in relief, it reads ΤΟΔΕ / ΕΛΑΦΡΟ / ΤΕΡΟΝ / ΤΤ / ΑΡΓΕΙ in five lines which means “lighter than this is not valid” It is a helioselanaton. Patinated.
