Archaeological description
Empereur 1981: Poids (?). Objet de plomb. Longueur : 54 mm ; largeur : 48 mm ; épaisseur : 4 mm. En haut, départ d’un tenon. Face supérieure : dans un cadre de 34 mm de côté, un personnage masculin debout, de 3/4 gauche, tient une massue de la main gauche et serre un objet de la droite (peau de bête?) ; à droite, un second personnage, de profil : homme ou hermès? ou bien Héraclès et Iolaos? Revers : 4 contremarques : en haut à gauche, un monogramme, delta avec omicron et une haste verticale qui part de l’angle droit du delta : iota ou nu? En haut à droite le même monogramme. En bas à gauche un lambda ligaturé avec un omicron et un alpha ; à droite, même chose, sans l’alpha.
Autoptic examination: Lead weight, square shape with a little protrusion on the upper edge. Signs of wear and corrosion: chippings; little strokes on the edges. Rounded corners and edges; straight sides. On the obverse, large frame and depiction of two men in relief. On the left, a man in three-quarters view is holding a club in his right hand and an animal skin (?) in his left. On the right, a younger man in profile. On the reverse, cross in light relief and in the four corners (between the branches), monograms in relief: ΔΟ (?), ΔΟ (?), ΛΟΑ (?) and ΛΑ (?).

Empereur 1981: Un second exemplaire provenant de la même matrice fait partie de la Collection Froehner [Cabinet des médailles, inédit, n° 939] ; au revers il présente les quatre mêmes estampilles. En meilleur état que le nôtre, il pèse 223,5 g. Provenance inconnue.
