Archaeological description
Kisch 1965: the captions of the illustrations mention : (A) Six weights from late Roman, Byzantine, and medieval periods. Top right is a 2-ounce weight (the horizontal line before the Roman II is a symbol of ounce); the inscription reads: 2 ounces [equal to] sol[idi] XII. The two weights at the lower right are exagia solidi of late Roman imperial times, bearing the heads of emperors. (B) Reverse of the weights shown in (A). Top left, from the reign of Theoderic, inscribed as a 3-ounce weight. The figure with the scales on the exagia solidi is Juno Moneta.
