Additional comment
RIB II: The object is 5.88 gm underweight (3.59%), which is partly accounted for by corrosion [4.9 gm underweight, 3.01%]. M.W.C.H. suggests (in litt.) that the symbol * is a variant of * , itself a variant from of Ϝ, digamma, the obsolete sixth letter of the Greek alphabet which continued in use to denote the numeral 6.
