Archaeological description
CPAI Turkey 1: Rectangular cutting board in form, with tab. On top, inscribed ΛΙΤΡΑ and caduceus both in relief, all in double border of dots (dots inner row are larger while the dots in outer row are small). Since Hermes is also the patron god of trade and merchants (Hermes Agoraios), it is normal that his symbol caduceus to be depicted on a weight. There are many weights which bear caduceus on them in the private and public collections. The bottom are covered with a crosshatching pattern in relief. Some parts are crushed.
