Archaeological description
Rostovtzeff 1941: Museum of Antioch (lead). Described by M. H. Seyrig, to whom I owe the information, as follows: Square lead weight. In the field to the right: ΗΜΙΜΝΟΥΝ. Poseidon naked standing to the left, his foot on a rock, the trident in his hand. To the left in the field an anchor. Around a frame (knotted string). Rev. Damaged. 258gr. Unpublished (in bad condition). The figure of Poseidon does not appear on the coins of Demetrius I Soter (162–150 B.C.).
Dans le champ, à dr. R.: endommagé. 258 gr.

Comments on Chronology
Reign of Demetrius I (163–151 BCE). Maybe in relation with Demetrius’ victorious arrival by sea at Tripoli in October 162 BCE? (Weiß and Ehling 2007, p. 496). The title Σωτήρ appears on Demetrius’ coins in ca. 155. This weight was probably produced between 155 and 150 (Seyrig).
