Archaeological description
Square lead weight, with rounded corners folded on both sides of the weight ; worn and very corroded. A tuna fish stands between the ethnic (KYZ) and the denomination ([Ε]ΞΑ) (to the left). On the reverse, the corners are folded ; the rest is flat and blank.
Tekin 2013b: This is a square lead weight measuring 44 x 43 x 7 mm and weighing 141.4 g with slightly rounded corners and raised edges; worn, patinated and corroded. On the obverse is a torch to left; above, ΚΥΖ[Ι]; below, ΕΞΑ which stands for heksa (six, sixth); all in relief. The reverse is blank. The denominational name heksa occurs first time on weights so it is unique. It is a hemilitron or one sixth of a stater in mass (stater of 850.14 g). But it should be called as heksamorion since it reads heksa on the weight. On the other hand, it may denote to heksastateron, i.e. a mass of six staters (stater of ca. 23.5 g). The reverse of the weight is blank.
