Archaeological description
Tekin 2014b: It is square in form, of lead, measuring 36 x 38 x 8 mm and weighing 121.36 g. On the face, there is a lion protome to right. The bottom is blank and partly crushed. On the corners, beginning from top left, there are the letters of Λ – Υ – Σ – Ι, i.e. the abbreviation of the ethnic Λυσιμαχέων. Below, between sigma and iota, there is a T, which stands for a tetarton, i.e. quarter-mna (mna of 485.44 g). Lysimachean mna should be about 500 g during the 3rd century BC.
Tekin 2018: Square lead weight. On the obverse there is a lion protome jumping right, in relief. On the corners, from top left, Λ-Υ-Σ-Ι. Below the belly of the lion is a Τ which stands for tetarton. The reverse is blank.
