Archaeological description
Tekin 2014b: It is a lead weight rectangular in form, measuring 45 x 40 mm and weighing 72.20 g; one-third of it is missing. On the face there is a tuna fish in relief but there is no inscription or sign denoting the ethnic or denomination. The weight may be attributed to Cyzicus since the tuna fish is a civic badge (parasemon) of this city. The bottom is blank. Its mass is low due to the missing part. When we add about one-third of mass to its present mass (72.20 g + 24.06 g) we may get a mass of 96.26 g (or more, i.e. over 100 g), which corresponds to a tetarton (quarter mna) or one-sixth mna regarding a mna of c. 500 g.
