Archaeological description
Tekin 2013e: This is a lead weight, square in form with raised edges on both sides; measuring 25 x 25 x 8 mm and weighing 29.19 g; it is a little heavier than the standard mass of an uncia (c. 27 g). On one face, OYN / KIA and in center, tuna fish (or dolphin) to right; all in relief. On the other face, ITA / ΛΙ / KH in relief, which means that the unit ounkia is “Italic” (or Roman). It is an uncia in Roman system of libra (litra). Regarding the tuna fish, one may assume that this weight was used in Cyzicus. Worn.
