Archaeological description
Tekin 2013e: Square lead weight with slightly rounded corners; it measures 30 x 27 x 8 mm and weighing 63.82 g. On the top, half tortoise in relief which is characteristic for one-eighth stater and one-twelfth stater. Its mass corresponds to a hemisyhemitriton, i.e. one-twelfth stater (stater of 765.84 g) or ogdoon, i.e. one-eighth of a mna (mna of 510.56 g) or it is simply a tristateron (stater of 21.27 g). The weights which bear half-tortoise are known from the excavations at Athenian Agora. The bottom is blank.
