Archaeological description
Tekin 2013g: This Late Roman bronze steelyard weight found during the excavations at Anemurium was previously published. It is in the form of a bust of Minerva wearing a helmet and aegis decorated with the head of Medusa; on top there is an attachment loop with a long hook. Although the weight is of bronze it is filled of lead, so contrary to its outward appearance it is quite heavy. It measures ca. 28.5 cm in height, ca. 12.5 cm in width and ca.10 cm in depth. (hook excluded). The hook is 27.5 cm in length. It weighs 10.580 kg totally. The weight is in good condition and patinated.
