Archaeological description
Robinson 1941: A cone-shaped truncated base or a weight. The convex sides slant out toward the top. Probably a weight shaped in the form of a base. Flat on one side, convex on other, formed by pouring molten lead into a depression. This would be a natural way of making exact measures. But perhaps it was a base for a wooden or stone column.
