Archaeological description
Robinson 1941: Inscribed [ligature], a combination of T and Σ. Perhaps this means a στ(ατήρ) or τέσσαρες στατῆρες, four staters. In the Pangaean district of Thrace there was a stater of 10 grammes, and the Macedonian coin stater was 14.50 grammes. Now, if this is a four-stater piece, it would give a mina of 530 drachmas on the Attic standard of two drachmas to a stater, or a mina of ca. 354 drachmas on the Corinthian standard of 3 drachmas, but we have seen above that the Olynthian mina is about 420 [grammes] [Robinson 1941, no. 2383].
