Archaeological description
Square bronze weight measuring 28x28x9 mm and weighing 55,5 grammes ; slightly concave. On the obverse, O made by short straight lines. Many bumps and strokes on the blank reverse.
Robinson 1941: Inv. 31.327. Bronze weight. Ht. 0.029 m., W. 0.028 m., Th. 0.009 m., Weight 55 grammes. Rectangular with slightly concave sides and rounded edges. Inscribed with the letter Ο, 0.013 m. high, made by a series of short, straight incisions. Perhaps, as in nos. 2404–2409 [Robinson 1941], this stands for ὄγδοον or ὀγδοημόριον, though I know no other case of only the Ο. Generally the abbreviation is ΟΓΔ or ΟΓΔΟ.
