Archaeological description
Robinson 1941: Rectangular but the edges are considerably damaged and rounded. On the top the letter Μ is rudely scratched, 0.019 m. high, and indicating that this is a μνᾶ or mina. The weight corresponds with that of nos. 2382–2384 and 2386 [Robinson 1941]. In the center of each short side is the end of what appears to be an iron pin or bar, ca. 0.004 m. in diameter. These bars seem to have been set in diagonally so that they emerge again, through swellings in the lead, in the back of the weight. Here the ends may be seen, somewhat smeared over by the lead, respectively 0.016 m. and 0.021 m. from the short edges of the weight. The space between the broken ends is ca. 0.025 m., enough for a small loop-handle. A longitudinal section, showing a restoration, is here shown. a. a. a. a. are the points at which part of the iron handle is visible [Cf. Picture b].
