Archaeological description
CPAI III/2: Made from a Byzantine coin of the 9th century (Theophilos, 829-842). Triangular in form. On the obverse, half figure of Emperor Theophilos, wearing loros and crown with plume; it reads ΘΕΟFΙL/bΑSIL/. On the reverse, it reads † ΘΕΟ / FILEAVG/[O]VSTESV / [n]ICAS in four lines.
