Archaeological description
Tekin 2024: One-Nomisma. AE 4.20 g, 16x3 mm. Inv. no. 2.9.91. Find place: Bayındır. Acquired in 1991. Copper alloy weight, discoid in form with concentric grooves around a central boss on the top; the bottom is blank. Contrary to its physical appearance, its mass is quite low (but certainly suitable to its unit), giving the impression that it might be made of glass! It dates to the 9th-10th centuries AD.
