Archaeological description
Pülz 2020: Stempel/Bleigewicht (?). AO: EM, Inv. 60/10/97 (ID 772). FO: aus der Umgebung von Tire. Dat.: 5.‒6. Jh. Mat.: Blei: 96,6 % Pb (RFA). Erh.: vollständig, etwas korrodiert. Primäre Herstellungstechnik: einteilig, in flüssiges, noch nicht festes Blei ›gestempelt‹. Beschreibung: Das Gewicht (?) hat eine quadratische Form mit eingezogenen Seiten und ist ziemlich dick. Die RS ist grob belassen. Die VS zeigt mehrere runde Abdrücke mit Monogrammen, die sich vielleicht als »Demetrios « auflösen lassen (Lesung W. Seibt). Maße: L 6,0 cm, B 5,7 cm, H 1,2 cm. Gewicht: 377,21 g.
Tekin 2024: One-Libra? Pb 377.3 g, 60x58x11 g. Inv. no. 60.10.97. Find place: Tire. Acquired in 1997. Lead weight, square in form. On one face, six (seven?) identical monograms ; the other face is blank. It may be an heavy italic libra (of ca. 14 unciae). It dates to the 3rd century AD.
