Archaeological description
Tekin 2024: Triton? Pb 199.15 g, 34x37x16 mm. Inv. no. 2.12.02. Find place: Tire. Acquired in 2002. Lead weight, square in form with slightly beveled edges. On the obverse, illegible letters and scene; Its mass corresponds to triton (mna of 597.45 g) or tetarton (796.6 g) or even commercial hemilitron (libra of 398.3 g) but all not certain. However, when the object is rotated 90 degrees to the right, it gives the impression that there is a T on the left! It dates to the late Hellenistic period.
