Archaeological description
Auction Leu 2020: Lot 2014. Honorius, with Theodosius II, 395-423. Exagium Solidi (Orichalcum, 15x14 mm, 4.19 g, 6 h), 408-423. DD NN Diademed and draped facing busts of Honorius and Theodosius II; between them, a cross. Rev. EX-AGIV Moneta standing front, head to left, holding scales in her right hand and cornucopiae in her left. Bendall -. CNG 79 (2008), 1258. CPAI -. MAH -. Pondera -. Very rare. An exceptionally clear and attractive piece. Nearly extremely fine. The attribution of this weight to Honorius and Theodosius II is based on Bendall 5, a very similar square weight which names Honorius on the obverse.
