Auction Leu 2019: Lot 588. Theodosius II, with Valentinian III, 425-450. Exagium Solidi (Bronze, 22 mm, 4.30 g, 7 h), Constantinopolis. DD NN AAVVGG Diademed, draped and cuirassed facing busts of Theodosius II and Valentinian III. Rev. EXAGIVM SOLIDI / CONS Emperor standing facing, holding labarum in his right hand and globus cruciger in his left. Bendall 13 var. (star on the reverse). An extremely rare variety of a very rare type. Sharply struck and clear, an unusually attractive example. Holed, otherwise, about extremely fine.
