Archaeological description
Auction Leu 2021: Lot 3258. Valentinian II, with Theodosius I and Arcadius, 375-392. Exagium Solidi (Bronze, 19 mm, 4.00 g, 5 h). DDD NNN GGG Diademed and draped facing busts of Valentinian II, in the center, with Arcadius on the left and Theodosius I on the right; at the beginning of the inscription, uncertain symbol. Rev. EXAGIVM SOLIDI Moneta standing front, head to left, holding scales in her right hand and cornucopiae in her left. Bendall 8. CPAI -. MAH -. Pondera 7933. Very rare and unusually attractive. Slightly rough, otherwise, very fine.
