Archaeological description
CPAI III/1 : Roughly square in form; edges are slightly concave; incision on top edge; patinated. On the obverse, a large Μ(νᾶ) between within circle (above) and bee (below); all in relief. The reverse is blank. Since the bee is frequently depicted on the Classical and Hellenistic coins of Ephesus and it is the symbol of that city, the weight may be attributed to Ephesus. It is a mna in unit.
