Archaeological description
CPAI III/1 : Rectangular in form with rounded corners; pierced; corners folding inwards; worn. On the obverse, eagle standing left; [Δ]- Ε(μόσιον) on the upper left and right corners; all in relief. Demosion refers that it is a public weight (or under the control of the state). The reverse is blank. This weight may belong to Abydus since eagle is the civic badge of that city; but attribution to Abydus is not certain. Its mass corresponds to a mna.
