Archaeological description
Rathmayr 2016, 517 B 346: quadratisches Siegel mit einem erhöhten Rand an der Oberseite, der ein Inschriftenfeld einfasst; in diesem befinden sich die griechischen Buchstaben HMI und ΤΟΝ; über dem M ist ein kleines Loch vorhanden. Auf der flachen Unterseite sind Buchstaben vorhaben. EM, InvNr 97/38/81, Fn 81/7, GHD, InvNr 81/200.
Tekin 2024: Hemilitron. Pb 136.95 g, 62x64x6 mm. Inv. no. 97.38.81. Find Place and date: Ephesus excavation, terrace houses (Yamaç Evler), 1981. Lead weight, square in form with raised and beveled edges, pierced in two places. On the obverse, ΗΜΙ / ΛΕΙΤ / ΡΟΝ in relief and in three lines. On the reverse, the same inscription has been repeated, ie ΗΜΙ / ΛΕΙΤ / ΡΟΝ. It is a hemilitron in unit (libra of 273.9 g of 10 unciae). It may be dated to the 1st century AD.
