  • Archaeological description
Tekin 2025: Lead weight, square, litra agoraia or mna, 458.16 g, 80 x 85 x 7 mm. Museum inv. no. 10934. Purchased in 1951 (fig. 16). The square weight has raised edges with a loop above and handle below. The weight’s form and the composition of the inscription (including the date in the local era, the month and day in the Macedonian calendar, and the name of the agoranomos) indicate that it was produced and used in Seleucia Pieria. A second similar example of this weight from the same mold appear in Princeton archive (fig. 17). The top contains six lines of inscription. [...] Ἔτους ηνσ´ | Πανήμου | γκ´ἐπὶ Ζηνο|δώρου τοῦ Δ|ιονυσίου ἀγ|ορανόμου. — Year 258, Panemos 23, (23th day of the month Panemos), time of agoranomos Zenodoros, son of Dionysios.
