Archaeological description
A. Pugliese : « Roman stone weight in the shape of a truncated sphere ; the stone looks like green and brown granite, and is well-polished. The weight is in good conditions, but the lower base is damaged by scratches and dents. In the centre of the upper base, there is the Roman numeral “XX”, for 20 Libras, and each “X” is made of 13 incised dots. The diameter of the sphere is 17.3 cm ; the diameter of the upper base is 10.1 cm and that of the lower base is 10.4 cm. »

Additional comment
A. Pugliese : « The weight was not measured with a precision scale ; hence, a margin of variation of 100g must be allowed. »
Les trois premiers chiffres du numéro d’inventaire semblent être un 7 suivi de deux 4. Le quatrième est illisible et le dernier est probablement un 8.
