Archaeological description
CPAI II : Square in form; on the face, in relief, a dolphin in center; above at corners, [Π] and Υ; below CΤΑ(τηρον); surface somewhat worn; bottom is blank. Dolphins are representd on the Byzantium's coins and fishing was the basic source of revenue for the city. Especially, majority of the Roman Provincial coins of Byzantium bear tuna fish or pelamydes. Dolphins and tuna fish (or pelamydes) are the civic badges (parasema) of Byzantium.

Additional comment
CPAI II: For the weights of Byzantium see Weiss 2008, pp. 709-724.
Simone Killen : Tuna fish isn't a parasemon of Byzantium. This dolphin is maybe a prow ?
