Archaeological description
CPAI II : Square in form with rounded corners and slightly raised edges. On the face, lion running right and below, spear's head; at the corners, Λ-Υ-Σ-Ι(μαχέων); all in relief. Surface somewhat worn; bottom is blank. This scene, i.e. lion and spear head, is seen on the Lysimachian coins in the Hellenistic period. Lion is the civic badge for Lysimachea. Its mass corresponds to a mna.
Tekin 2018: Square lead weight with rounded corners and concave edges. On the obverse there is a lion jumping right, in relief. On the corners, from top left, Λ-Υ-Σ-Ι. Below the belly of the lion, Δ may stand for demosion (state guarantee). The reverse is blank.

CPAI II: Cf.: Lang 1968, no. 3 (misattributed to "Smyrna"); Vassilev 1988, p. 7, fig. 1; Gorny und Mosch 175, 9 March 20069, # 323; for some Lysimachean weights on online auctions see Tekin 2012, pp. 287-90.
SK: spear's head ?
The weight is very light for a double mina. The dimensions of the weight (length and width) are similar to those of other heavier double minas of the city.
