Archaeological description
CPAI II : Rectangular in form; raised edges. On the face, a torch; above, ΗΡΑ Ε; below, ΔΙΜ(νουν); between the letters, vase reverted; at lower left, quiver; all in relief. In field, two circular countermarks in which are the identical monograms ; bottom is blank. Although Heraclea use ΠΟΝΤΩ on her coins to distinguish herself from other Hercleas, ΗΡΑ Ε may stand for ΗΡΑ(kleia) E(ukseinos?). Some triangular lead weights with ΗΡΑ were previously attributed to Dionysopolis. Its mass corresponds to its denomination (mna of 542.5 g). Patinated.
