Archaeological description
CPAI II : Square in form with rounded corners. On the face, in relief, shield, indistinct letters on two left corners (Μ-Ο?), there may be letters at the others corners; thus, [ΔΕ]ΜΟ(σιον) ? but letters are illegible since the corners are folding down over design. Bottom is blank. Worn. Its mass corresponds to hemimna (mna of 455.76 g) and tetartemorion (stater of 911.52 g). But since the tetartemorion (quarter stater) weights bear shield as badge, this weight can be rather a tetartemorion in unit. This weight may belong to the Aegean area (Athens ?).
