Miller 1988: The material presented above, and much more, brings us clearly into the 2nd century, but it is not clear whether it must be as late as 145 B.C. when Mummius undertook some initiative with regard to the Nemean Games. Furthermore, there is a strong temptation to connect this pit and the final destruction of the room just to the west of it with the heavy debris over the road to the north as mentioned above (p. 9). With the exception of a very few fragments of long-petal bowls, however, the latest material would be a generation or two earlier than Mummius.
