Archaeological description
Autoptic examination;
Lead weight; square shape. Signs of wear and corrosion: many chippings, grooves, cuts, strokes and holes. Rounded, raised and folded corners; straight edges; irregular sides. On the obverse, depiction of an half-tortoise in relief with dots on his shell. The tortoise is slightly flattened on the upper left edge and on the right. In the corners, letters in relief: ΗΜΙΤΕ (T is at the bottom center below the tortoise).

Huitième de mine. Poids carré en plomb. 105,80 g ; L. 0,0385. Inv. Bar. 1889-7. Sur l’une des faces, une demi-tortue. Autour, légende ΗΜΙΤΕ (ἡμιτέταρτον).
