Archaeological description
Auction Archaeological Center 2007: Palestine, Anonymous (Judaea). A Roman Period rectangular lead weight with pierced handle, 202.73 gr., 4.8×7.3 cm., 0.7/0.9 cm. thick. The obverse is decorated with a circular ladder pattern. On the reverse, traces of mirror-shaped Hebrew letters in a circle are visible. A further investigation and decipherment of the inscription may be possible. In fair condition. (A. Spaer coll. no. W-131). For similar weights see Qedar 1979:4076-7. Unpublished.
