Archaeological description
Lead weight; heart shape. Signs of wear and corrosion: chippings, grooves and holes; silver. A loop which was formerly at the top has broken away. Traces of casting on the sides. On both faces, frame and inscription in relief: on the obverse, ΗΜΙΛΕΙΤΡΟΝ; on the reverse, Μ ΑΥΡ ΒΙWΝΟC Β' ΦΙ[ΛΟ]ΟCΕΒ(ΑΣΤΟΥ) ΑΓΟΡΑΝΟΜΟΥ Υ (= Marcus Aurelius Bion, agoranomos in Smyrna, 2nd half of 2nd c. BC).
