Archaeological description
Krapivina 2003: Collection of the Institute of the History of Material Culture, Russian Academy of Sciences, St Petersburg, inv. no. O-61/3634.Cleaned; excellent state of preservation. The shape is rectangular with slightly pronounced corners, measuring 3.3-3.6 × 3.2-3.4 × 0.5 cm; weight 48.691 g. On the obverse is a dolphin, facing left; the inscriptions ΟΛΒΙΟ above it and ΔΙΟΝΥ beneath it are visible. On the reverse illegible signs have been incised. The weight was found in a room in area E-2; and it can be dated to the 3rd century BC. The weight corresponds to 1/8 of the Euboic-Attic mina of standard 100.
