Autoptic examination: Lead weight coated with a layer of bronze on the obverse and the sides (not on the reverse); square shape. Signs of wear and corrosion: small chippings and strokes on the obverse around the inscription or the depiction and on the sides. On the reverse, small hole, stroke (missing part), cuts, hollows and chippings. Slightly rounded corners; slightly concave edges. On the obverse, depiction of a grazing horse in relief. Above and below the horse, letters in relief: ΑΛΕΞΑΝ (above) ΔΙΟΚΛΕΙΟΥΣ (below) and letter Π (= 5 Minas?) between the front and the hind legs of the horse. Before the delta, symbol in relief: ♀. A horizontal line separate the depiction from the inscription below. The reverse is plain.

C'est une épaisse plaque carrée, abords rabattus, ornée d'un bas-relief qui figure les armes de la ville : un cheval paissant, tourné il g. Au dessus du cheval, on lit ΑΛΕΞΑΝ en belles lettres du ne siècle avant notre ère ; dans le champ, un n, et en exergue : le nom de l'agoranome(au génitif)ΔΙΟΚΛΕΙΟΥΣ, précédé d'un petit Terme. — Poids : 2589 gr. 60, équivalant il 5 mines.
Froehner 1899: Alexandrie de Troade. Grand poids rectangulaire en bronze fourré de plomb, le plus beau des poids antiques. C’est une épaisse plaque carrée, aux bords rabattus, ornée d’un bas-relief qui figure les armes d’Alexandrie connues par ses médailles: un cheval paissant, tourné à g. Au-dessus du cheval, on lit ΑΛΕΞΑΝ(δρείας) en lettres du second siècle avant notre ère; dans le champ, un Π, et en exergue: le nom de l’agoranome (au génitif): ΔΙΟΚΛΕΙΟΥΣ, précédé d’un petit terme. Vente Rhosopoulos (Paris, 29 juin 1895); catalogue, pl. 9. Poids 2589 gr. 60, équivalant à 5 mines.
Weiß 1990: Gewicht von 2589,6 g aus Bronze mit Bleikern (aus dem Handel): weidendes Pferd nach links auf Bodenlinie, ΑΛΕΞΑΝ und Beamtenname ΔΙΟΚΛΕΙΟΥΣ. Nach Michon fünf Minen; wenn man in Alexandreia nach der leichteren attischen Mine maß (s. zu b), müßte es ein SechsMinen-Stück sein.
Weiß 2008: Wohl 6 Minen (oder 4 schwere Minen?), Bronze mit Bleikern; 2589 ,6 g. Grasendes Pferd nach l. auf Bodenlinie, ΑΛΕΞΑΝ und Name ΔΙΟΚΛΕΙΟΥΣ. Erwähnt von Michon 554, aus dem Pariser Kunsthandel (29. Juni 1895). Nach Michon 5 Minen. - Robert 51 und [Weiß 1990] 138, 3 a.
