Ashmolean Museum: Lead weight.
Meyer 2001–03: Stater weight based on the Athenian standard (two didrachma pieces). Control weights for coins (exagia) are usually in bronze. Square lead weight, 7.97 gr., 2.07 x 2.1 x 0.36 cm. Obv. ΣTA, within raised border. Rev. [I]ΣTPI. AN 2004.40.
Autoptic examination: Lead weight, square shape. Signs of wear and corrosion: chippings; strokes on the right and left edges on the reverse; bump on the lower edge. The sides are set at a slight slant. On the obverse, frame and legend in relief: ΣΤΑ. On the reverse, legend in relief in the other direction: [Ι̣]ΣΤPΙ.

Meyer and Moreno 2004: In 1996 a private collector of ancient coins received a posted parcel containing 43 metal objects, supposedly lead weights from ancient Istria on the western shore of the Black Sea. These came unsolicited from an antiquities dealer based outside Britain, and given that they would otherwise most likely have been dispersed on the open market, the recipient notified the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford and deposited the package at the Department of Antiquities.
