Archaeological description
AM: Weight, Roman. Length: 3.5 cm, width: 4 cm, weight: 50.9 g.
Autoptic examination: Lead weight, square shape (distorted), big suspension hole on the lower edge. Signs of wear and corrosion: the weight is convex, small strokes and bumps on the the obverse due to the deformation of the object. The reverse is hollowed with a cut on the center and a bump on the lower right. The sides are set in a slant. On the obverse, frame and letter in relief: B. On the upper right corner, the weight is flattened by a round countermark. On the countermark, depiction of one (or two?) standing character holding a sceptre to his right and a bird to his left; on either side of the scene, the letters Ṃ and Ạ. Another countermark below the letter B? (with the letters IE - uncertain).
