Archaeological description
Autoptic examination:
Lead weight; square shape. Signs of wear and corrosion: chippings; small strokes on the sides and the reverse; hollow (small part is missing) on the lower right edge on the reverse; whitish. Straight and slightly raised corners; straight and clear-cut edges. On the obverse, depiction of a tortoise in relief to the right. Little dots on the domed shell and circular edge around it. The head, legs and tail are visible. On the corners, letters in relief: ΔΗΜΟ.

British Museum: Lead weight: a tortoise, 1/4 stater. Δ I Ο Σ incised (one letter in each corner).
